Statement.
The notion of progress is based on the belief that what humans create
and discover in the past becomes the basis for what is to come. Yet
throughout history, so much is lost and forgotten -- languages, cultures,
technologies, ways of doing things -- so that even the academic field
of history, where facts are understood to be truth, becomes a creative
occupation.
The pictures which I choose to represent are an attempt to bridge
the gap between what is remembered and what is forgotten. It is about
the history of the future.
