I have been aware of the praise around Fred Betz's work for many years but could not be sure how the accolades were accorded.

When I finally saw his paintings, about one year ago, my jaw dropped - this, probably, was an appropriate response to work addressing the nature of emotional awareness, the relation between dreams and dream-life, and the implications of a better, more poignant, yet perhaps less pretty, world. Less mystical than they are magical, the paintings are, uniquely, as technically perfect as its gets.

The Site is honored to present 9 paintings of Fred Betz's for the first time on the Web. These works were completed between the years 1993 and 2002. We hope you will look closely at these paintings and the occasional, evocative details of paintings that follow.
